JAWJ visits the WCJF, Kingston Centre

KINGSTON - The Jamaica Association of Women Judges (JAWJ) visited the Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation (WCJF) Kingston Centre, on Friday. Among the Jamaican judges who visited, two were from Trinidad, and one was from Argentina.

Executive Director, Dr. Zoe Simpson ensured to communicate the WCJF reintegration model during their sit down board meeting, and gave them a tour of the Kingston Centre's facilities - including the newly established Adolescent Resource Centre (ARC) and a project in development; the Kingston Centre library.

The members of JAWJ who attended also had a chance to have a sit down, informal discussion with some of the WCJF adolescence mothers, who ensured to be present during the visit. The girls were very interested in how adolescent mothers were supported in the surrounding countries (Trinidad & Tobago and Argentina).

The JAWJ falls under the umbrella of the well-recognized and respected, International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ), which is a non-profit, non- governmental organization whose members represent all levels of the judiciary in over 82 countries/ areas worldwide and share a commitment to equal justice and the rule of law.
