Man Up! Youth Empowerment & Parenting Conference

KINGSTON - Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation was delighted to take part at RISE's Man UP! Youth Engagement & Parenting Conference on Friday. The conference discussed topics such as youth sexuality and reproductive health, childcare and protection focusing on sexual abuse prevention and men, power and gender equality, among others.

The conference brought together approximately 300 youth leaders, parents and other stakeholders, to participate in the Youth Empowerment or Parenting workshop. The workshops were designed to empower and assist participants in accessing information in parenting skills, youth leadership and advocacy in the areas of adolescence sexuality and reproductive health.

RISE Life Management Services is a non-governmental organization established in Jamaica in 1989 as Addiction Alert Organization. Over the years, the direction and focus of its programmes were adjusted in order to meet the needs of the at-risk youth population in Jamaica, resulting in a name change to RISE Life Management Services. RISE stands for Reaching Individuals through Skills and Education. More information can be found at risejamaica.org.
