International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

KINGSTON - To commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Jamaica Aids Support for Life organization held a silent protest in Halfway Tree on Friday. Some staff from the Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation (WCJF) attended the protest to show their support and stance against violence against women. The protesters were full of various Kingston organizations such as Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF), Canadian Institutes of Heath Research (CIHR), EVE For Life (E4L) and others. The protest was peaceful, and police security was present. The WCJF was happy to participate, especially as an organization that embraces female empowerment.
