German Embassy supports youth clinic project

KINGSTON - We are excited to announce that our proposal to open a Youth Clinic has been approved, and will be funded by the German Embassy.

The Clinic will be located on the grounds of the Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation (WCJF) Kingston site. This Clinic will provide a high standard, comprehensive, youth-friendly reproductive and sexual health services. The services will be accessible and confidential, and will be provided by professional doctors, psychologists and other health practitioners who are experienced and trained specialists.

The proposed activities of the Youth Clinic are as follows:

  • Counselling (contraceptive methods and use)

  • Contraceptive methods for first timers (16+ & 17 year olds)

  • Contraceptive methods for past students who did not receive a method

  • Follow-up Visits

  • Medical attention for clients with STI’s

  • Postnatal Mental Health Care

  • Male SRH Sessions (for the adolescent fathers)

  • General Specialized Counselling (Psychotherapy)

  • Counselling for Child Diversion Clients

  • Parenting Seminars

We look forward to working with Jamaica Family Planning Association (JFPA) in opening the Youth Clinic for September 2016.
