Empowerment Day

KINGSTON - Empowerment Day is a day for the girls to remind themselves that they are change agents, they can gain skills to impact their own lives and the lives of other individuals.

It's a reminder that they can take initiative and make decisions to solve problems and improve service, performance, and ultimately a nation!

Reverend Teddy Jones, the Director of Recruitment & Admissions at the Jamaica Theological Seminary (JTS) was the key note speaker at the event and spoke to the girls about, not only being the future generation, but being apart of the present generation.

"I observe trends that are leading to a mad rush to the bottom."

"We need to recognize that youth and children are an important part of the 'now', and that will impact and ensure that there will be a future," said Rev. Jones.

The day was also filled with a singing performance by the CSEC students, and a devotional session.
